Delaware County Department of Human Services had outgrown its aging facility and set out to create a modern workplace that was safe, welcoming, and worthy of the community it serves. Its new home offers a fresh start and the chance to build a space that supports daily operations, warmly hosts visitors, and strengthens pride for both staff and county residents.

The design establishes secure public and employee zones, ensures intuitive circulation from the lobby to work areas, and introduces flexible “communication pods” that can transition to offices as needs evolve. Community-focused branding showcases local children’s artwork throughout corridors and gathering spaces. Paired with thoughtful interior design, the result feels elevated and enduring while honoring existing standards and resources.

Today, staff enjoy a safer, more functional environment, visitors feel welcomed, and the Delaware County Department of Human Services has a workplace that reflects its commitment to residents and positions them for the future.
