D2 Promotions!
Congratulations to Mike Kalustov and John Bakaysa, RA for their recent promotions to Project Manager within our Architecture studio! John and Mike have both held key project roles over the last five years, taking on complex projects, masterfully coordinating large teams, driving excellence, and influencing the success of our studio. We are proud to have them as part of our team and thrilled that they will be stepping into roles that will allow them to provide mentorship and guidance both internally and externally.
Mike Kalustov, Project Manager
With almost two decades of experience, Mike has played a key role in many of D2’s largest corporate repositioning and ground up projects. Invested in all aspects of project design and delivery, he ensures an exceptionally coordinated team and continually delivers highly precise and polished solutions. All about the details, Mike skillfully guides teams toward solutions that meet extremely technical requirements, are cost-effective, operationally efficient, and innovative. Mike’s mentorship and quality assurance has great influence both in the design studio and with his clients, who describe him as a tactical consultant – equipping them with the knowledge and information needed to make informed decisions.

John Bakaysa, RA, Project Manager
John’s 20 years in the industry have been rich with an array of project types including higher ed, corporate, and health sciences. With a great focus on collaboration and open communication, John has strengthened internal teams and enriched relationships with a broad network of D2 project partners. He has instituted innovative professional practices and processes within the architecture studio, supporting and progressing the established D2 standards of design excellence and successful project execution. John is a hands-on internal leader, providing strategic and technical oversight, influencing the design quality, and ensuring a high level of client service.
