Notable neighboring architecture provided a unique design challenge to D2 for this build-to-suit project–blend an innovative contemporary aesthetic with an existing highly stylistic neighboring structure to create a harmonious architectural dialogue between the two. Using a robust pallet of new materials, composition, massing, and proportions that complement the neighboring building, D2 developed a creative contextual response with its own, distinct architectural identity. It doesn’t make the adjacent building look outdated; it elevates the aesthetic value of the neighborhood–it’s First Avenue 2.0.
