For the relocation of their headquarters to one of their signature development properties at Ellis Preserve, Equus tasked D2 to create their new home from the ground up. The HQ workspace has been referred to as a place for the ‘Gentleman Farmer’—blending a refined work environment with a warm, rustic atmosphere and taking inspiration from the history of the region as well as the spirit of the Equus brand. The building’s wood floors, vaulted ceilings, monumental stair, and casework as well as found object installations throughout are a result of hand-selected architectural salvage. These elements, along with a great emphasis on employee well-being, contributed to the buildings’ LEED Gold certification. Moving away from an aged and traditional office, the team embraced a new strategy that eliminated office walls and ceilings, uniting previously disparate teams. Designed to be social and inclusive, the studio environment and indoor/outdoor amenities truly bring everyone together.
