D2 Expands Branding Studio!

After a decade of designing, procuring, and installing environmental graphic designs for our clients, we are thrilled to announce that we are expanding our team. This growth will enhance our ability to deliver awesome (if we say so ourselves!) environmental designs as well as bolster our Brand Identity offerings. Read on below to meet the newest to the team…

JACKIE WADE:

First up, we are thrilled to welcome Jackie Wade! Jackie will be joining us as a Senior Graphic Designer. She comes to us with 14 years of experience from multiple award-winning firms in the Philadelphia, Bay Area and Austin, TX. Throughout the years, Jackie has led branding, environmental graphic design, and experiential graphic design projects. Her project experience spans a range of market sectors including retail, restaurant hospitality and corporate environments.

Jackie received her BFA in Communication Design with concentration in Graphic Design and Advertising from Kutztown University. Since her studies, she continues education and professional development through affiliations with the SEGD (Society for Experiential Graphic Design) – she plays an active role in the Philadelphia chapter. Her resume includes many well-known client names like Facebook, Google and Amazon. Her branding and packaging design for Elemental Beverage Co. with Chen Design Associates earned multiple awards including the Regional Design Annual 2019 award from Print Magazine.

After living and working in San Francisco and Austin, TX for various interior, architectural, EGD, and graphic design firms…

I’m excited to come full circle – resetting my roots in Philadelphia – and bring my knowledge and experience to D2. I’m looking forward to diving in and collaborating with the talented D2 team!

Jackie’s resume and interests are perfectly aligned to fit into the D2 Branding team – her specialty is in the tasteful combination of branding and environmental graphic design. Jackie is a skilled learner and has surrounded herself with multi-discipline designers throughout her career to stay sharp. Her design secret – stay interested! It is this philosophy that allows her to thrive in the ideation and strategy phase of the design process. Jackie will be a critical contributor to developing concepts alongside our Branding Directors  – adding a fresh hand to both identity and environment projects.

Outside of the studio, Jackie seeks inspiration from travel. She stays active and enjoys hiking, yoga, and live music.

Welcome to the studio Jackie!

D2 is also thrilled to welcome Grace as our newest graphic designer. Grace is a recent college graduate with about 4 years of professional experience gained in various roles while she was completing her degree. A favorite project, inspired by her favorite city (Philly, of course!) features graphics for a retail line of glassware and other boutique items like keychains sold online and in stores at a small boutique in University City., During this time, she also worked as an in-house graphic design intern for Unite Fitness, another strong, local Philadelphia business, applying the company’s brand to social media and assisting with the identity of a new location.

Grace graduated with the Class of 2022 from Drexel University, receiving her BS in Graphic Design. She graduated Cum Laude and her capstone project was featured by Drexel on their LinkedIn.

“I am looking forward to collaborating and problem solving with other creative individuals. D2 was the perfect fit for me because there is such an emphasis on learning and growth.

…Design is something that touches everyone, I feel it is my duty to impact society in a meaningful way with my work.”

Closely aligning with our belief that “Design is not a luxury,” Grace understands that design strongly impacts our day to day. With purpose and strategy in mind, Grace works collaboratively to make brands comes alive – ,passionately weaving in strategies that focus on sustainable design, social justice, and mental health – bringing  positive, impactful change to her projects and clients.

Grace is just as creative in her personal life as she is in the studio. She enjoys film photography, stand-up comedy, thrifting, 80s music and, like many of us, she is fueled by… coffee!
